100% Grüner Veltliner / Alcohol: 11.8 %
The variety is a natural offspring of Traminer and St. Georgen. Grüner Veltliner is the most important autochthonous grape variety in Austria and widely planted in Lower Austria and Burgenland. It is a fertile variety that needs yield regulation and grows extremely well in deep loess soils but does not like dryness. Over the last years, Grüner Veltliner has achieved worldwide awareness as a fruity, enjoyable variety.
DAC stands for „Districtus Austriae Controllatus” and is subject to strict regulation. The wine has to be typical to the variety and has to come strictly from the Weinviertel. The main characteristics of this wine are spicy – peppery flavours that are very elegant and well balanced with plenty of finesse.
