The Hofkellerei was one of the first Austrian estates to plant Merlot in their vineyards. Stylistically characterised by ripeness, pleasant spice, opulent fruit and powerful body.
Traditional gentle vinification, fermentation in wooden vats followed by three years maturing in selected French barriques in the centuries-old vaulted cellar of the Hofkellerei.
Dark ruby-garnet with violet highlights and a slight lightening at the rim. Wild strawberry confit, black berry fruit supported with balsamic nuances; fine structural tannins, chocolate and tobacco spice with a persistent aftertaste.
