Pinot Noir produces some of the world’s greatest red wines. In the principality of Liechtenstein it is for centuries the traditional red vine. In Bocker the ripest clusters are selected by hand, yielding a robust Pinot Noir with potential for cellaring and international acclaim.
Ried Herawingert is one of the most important vineyards in the Rheintal. A microclimate dominated by the warm wind »Föhn« and cool downdrafts from the mountains along with the limestone- & slate-rich soil traditionally yields fine, mineralic and elegant Pinot family wines.
Selective hand harvesting, vinification of physiologically ripe and healthy grapes, extended maceration – some whole-berry with stems; élevage and maturing for two years in new selected French 500L tonneaux, followed by one year bottle aging.
Deep ruby-garnet; ripe figs, rip and wild berries, nuances of chocolate & tobacco. Powerful structure in the finish: dried plums, orange rind, decent vanilla notes, satiny tannins and animating length on the palate.
